Right on Track

data center

March came in like a lamb and winter has not yet gone astray for us here in Bismarck. As we at BTInet wait for spring to come, we
have been exceptionally busy these past couple of months which brings good news as the move into our new Tier IV data center is near completion.

We commend the staff of BTInet for handling the data center migration while continuing their daily support without any substantial interruptions.  Our administrators are still working round the clock, having already put in thousands of hours during the two months to complete the migration by our target date.

Please continue to bear with the system administrators as they are working hard to reach the completion date for the data center move of April 1st, 2010.

Oracle Buys Sun

sunoracleOracle has acquired Sun Microsystems in a deal valued at more than $7 billion. This move converted a database & business-software company into a hardware company as well.

BTInet has been running and hosting Sun (now Oracle) servers and Oracle software for over ten years.  Our UNIX system administrators are all Solaris certified and we have a talented staff of Oracle database administrators.

Sun/Oracle hosting has been an integral part of our business and we will continue to offer these solutions to new and existing customers.

BTInet participates in case study with Dell
Dell Server Logo
BTInet is working with Dell on a case study detailing the efficiencies of hosting on Dell Blade Servers.  We have been using Dell Blade Servers since the PowerEdge 1655 Blade Servers were released in 2003.  BTInet has streamlined the deployment of blade servers and Dell asked us to share our experiences with other users.

Dell blades offer unique advantages to hosting companies and hosting customers alike, and BTInet agreed to share this information with other companies through this case study.

The study is in final review and should be published soon.
