Flemington & Frenchtown Green Teams Host Screenings of "Bag It" Movie
Is Your Life Too Plastic?
The average American uses about 500 plastic bags each year, using each for bag for an average of just twelve minutes.
"Bag It", a documentary by Jeb Berrier, explores how our daily reliance on plastic threatens not only waterways and marine life, but human health, too. Two of the most common plastic additives are endocrine disruptors, which have been shown to link to cancer, diabetes, autism, attention deficit disorder, obesity and infertility.
Both the Flemington and Frenchtown Green Teams will host free screenings of the film this week as part of "Green Film Series" projects in both communities.
Following the screenings, both communities will have a question and answer period, as well as introduce a related "green challenge" that members of the community can pledge to take, reducing their use of plastic in a variety of ways.
