HART Completes "Bicycle & Pedestrian Connectivity Analysis" of Flemington/Raritan

Building on good work that has been done on both the local and county level, HART recently completed an analysis of previous studies, field work and research to develop a list of short term,
low cost recommendations for improving bicycle and pedestrian connectivity and safety between Flemington Borough and Raritan Township.

"The two municipalities have an important, symbiotic relationship," says John Stevenson, HART bicycle and pedestrian programs coordinator.  "However, multiple state highways and inconsistent pedestrian facilities limit pedestrian and bicycle access between the residential areas of Flemington and Raritan Township's many retail destinations."

Findings of the report, including recommendations for completing sidewalks, upgrading crosswalks, installing pedestrian signals and consideration of bike lanes, will be presented to the municipalities in the coming weeks.

For more information, or to request that HART assist your community, contact John Stevenson,
908-788-5553, or john@harttma.com.
