The RHODE ISLAND PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA will pe
Noyarform five Summer Pops-2010 concerts in various locations in Rhode Island this summer, beginning with a 4th of July concert at India Point Park, Providence. Resident Conductor FRANCISCO NOYA will conduct the five concerts. These concerts are free of charge and open to the public.

The Summer Pops-2010 program will include light classics, music from Broadway shows and popular patriotic numbers, as well as Summer Pops traditional favorites, America the Beautiful and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

- Eldredge Field, East Greenwich, 8:15pm

All concerts are free and open to the public. Rain dates will be the following day at the same time for each concert.

Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra LIVE
at WaterFire Providence

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Resident Conductor, Francisco Noya, joins WaterFire Providence to present a spectacular evening of live orchestral music performed in the heart of downtown Providence.  


This first-of-its kind event will allow tens of thousands of people to experience the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra live and also all along the three rivers of WaterFire and in Waterplace Park. The Orchestra will perform beginning at 9pm. Approximately 5,000 chairs will be placed in the Plaza for audience members. The program includes Smetana's The Moldau, Barber's Adagio for Strings and excerpts from Stravinsky's The Firebird. Dancers from will join the orchestra for Festival Ballet Providence Barber's Adagio, and soprano Diana McVey will be featured singing several arias.

Thank you to everyone who participated in last week's Chamber Music Workshop. After just 4 and a half days of the workshop the student presented a wonderful recital last Friday. Laurenke to let you know that I am leaving my position as Box Office Manager and will be starting a new position at Roger Williams University on July 19th.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with every one of you including: Music School faculty, students & parents of The Music School, Philharmonic subscribers and donors.

I appreciate having had the opportunity to get to know all of you. I will miss our interactions together.
