Trauma54 Providers Receive Training

Thirteen provider agencies, two hospitals and a private provider attended the initial training for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in January. The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has provided the resources for the training and nine months of bi-weekly consultation for the therapists. In addition, DSHS has provided the opportunity for our community to participate in a national research study conducted by the University of Texas at Austin through the State's Mental Health Transformation Grant. If you know a child between the ages of 8 and 18 who would benefit from TF-CBT, contact Carolyn Hanke at 817-538-7041.

CSMIS Becomes DataLink
Electronic Referral and Information System Grows DataLink Logo
As the Mental Health Connection online patient management tool moves out of its pilot stage, the name has changed from Community Solutions Management Information System (CSMIS) to DataLink. Five Mental Health Connection member agencies participated in the pilot, and the tool is now being rolled out to the entire mental health community. DataLink supports the No Wrong Door vision with a goal of providing quick, easy, seamless access to mental health services for children. Since January, the five participating pilot agencies have received 237 referrals through DataLink. As part of the expansion, the MHC Technology committee is also working to connect DataLink with other management information systems in a data-sharing federation. For more information, contact Tamra Walker at 214-850-4473.

Mental Health Connection is a collaboration of public and private agencies, as well as individuals who need mental health care services and their caregivers. The organization works to revolutionize the mental health delivery system, with a vision of creating No Wrong Door to the Right Mental Health Resources.
