HAPPY NEW YEAR to our Northumberland YMCA Family!  Thank you for all of your support and participation!  We are looking forward to a fasntastic 2011!

THANKS TO YOU~ 2010

We live in such fast-paced world these days and our motto is often "Out with the old and in with the new!"  But before you head off into 2011 bound to a wild horse, take a second, or at least a few days, to remember the accomplishments from 2010.  The old saying goes, 'history repeats itself,' and if this is true, your Northumberland Family YMCA can expect another successful year.

A few highlights from the year clearly indicate your Y has become a cause-driven organization.  Nearly 350 different children were served through sport and camp programs.  Promotional events and sport banquet dinners had an estimated 700 individuals in attendance.  The annual dinner auction brought in nearly $38,000 with 130 guests filling the room.  And when the final figures are tallied more than $1.29 million will have been pledged or contributed in 2010, all to provide services and build for the future.

The highlights are impressive!  There's no doubt about it.  But they are merely by-products of the services provided by individuals in the community.  My hat's off to the more than 120 individuals who volunteered, collectively logging more than 3,800 hours of service this past year.  When you do the math, each volunteer averaged 1 ½ hours a week of donated time, which adds up to quite an impact.  I believe that deserves a round of applause!

So as we saddle up for another year, and struggle for a few days to correctly write the date, remember the success of 2010 at your YMCA and what led to it.  When history repeats, what will it lead to this time?  What impact do you see?  Together, we make a difference.

Thank you for yet another great year!

5) You will see three choices.

  • Find Account: If you or a member of your family have ever participated in a program or donated money to the YMCA, you probably already have an account with the YMCA and you just need to set up on-line access to your account by creating a username (your email address) and a password.  Therefore, click on the "Find Account" box.  Enter your last name, birth date and zip code and click submit.  If the system does not find you, contact Holly at the YMCA office to (1) be sure your information is entered correctly in our system, (2) retrieve your member number, and (3) possibly have her set up your username & password directly if necessary.
  • SIGN UP: ONLY IF you have never participated in any YMCA activities or programs should you click on the sign up box.  If you do, you will create a second account for yourself at the YMCA which could create some confusion.  Therefore, if you have NOT participated in any YMCA sport programs or donated to any of the local Y's (ALL over the peninsula including Richmond Co. and Northern Neck Family), then please click on the "Sign Up" box.  This will allow you create a YMCA account as well as a username and password.
  • SIGN IN: Once you have created a username (email) and password, you may sign in.
