The YMCA,  along with Applebee's
in Tappahannock,
is hosting a
Pancake Breakfast
THIS Saturday, August 7th
from 7-10 AM at Applebee's.
 Tickets are $7 in advance/$10 at the door. 
(Children 2 & under are free). 
 
 Purchase tickets in advance  from Holly at the YMCA office or from one of our many Y-Summer Camp Kids!  Even if you can't attend the breakfast, feel free to buy a ticket anyway as a donation to our cause! 
 
Proceeds from ticket sales, donations & tips will benefit our Strong Communities Campaign.  The YMCA staff, families, and volunteers will be the servers!  We hope to be able to serve YOU! 
 
Come enjoy a 
short stack of pancakes
for a tall cause!
 

For Grant Special Edition Aug. 2010

Will you help your Y get $250,000 for free fitness and wellness programs?    VOTE EVERYDAY!
 
The Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA is competing for a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project, and the only way we can win is with your help.  Please vote for our project, "Activate the Peninsula." Vote today and everyday for the rest of the month of August. Your vote will help the Y be even more affective in your community, and you can be part of it!
Activate the Peninsula:
·         Provide a safe environment for families and individuals to exercise
·         Provide nutrition and healthy cooking classes to all residents.
·         Provide residents with the knowledge to exercise safely & effectively.
·         Provide nutrition and health education to even our youngest preschool children

The YMCA is extending the age group for the football season cheerleading sqaud to include ages 6 to 13!  Practices will be on Thursdays from 6-7:15 beginning August 19th.
 
We are currently taking registrations for cheerleading.  Registration will end on August 12th.

Afterschool Care:    $40 Registration Fee
                                  $40/week members and $48/week non-members
 
Fall Cheerleading for girls ages 6-13   $50 members/$65 non-members 
Flag Football for boys ages 5-8             $40 members/$60 non-members
Outdoor Soccer for ages 3-14               $40 members/$60 non-members
