Hi ,
We are not having any problems with these issues that I am
aware of, however, they are still worth repeating every year.
First, let's state the obvious rule, only adults who have been Risk Managed AND have an Administrator Form on file with the registrar may interact or supervise our players.
PLAYERS MAY NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED
Obviously use your judgment as to age. For the
youngers, for example, a trip to the Porta Potty should
always be accompanied by an
adult. You all have at least one parent hanging around at a practice, ask a parent
to accompany them; provided of course they meet the 'Obvious Rule' noted above.
None of us want to hang around after a
practice or a game just because we have late parents. That said you MUST wait
until the parent gets there. If you are having problems with parents showing up
on time to pick-up players please notify the board and we'll intervene if
necessary.
A smart person is never alone with a child. Be
intelligent and proactive about protecting yourself too. Waiting with, picking-up, dropping
off, and driving players from practices or games should only be done in the
company of others.
PLAYERS AT THE SCHOOLS
Part of the condition of using the school
district's facilities (for FREE) is that we follow their rules. They do not ask
much of us.
You may NOT have your players wait after school,
on the school district property, without adult supervision.
If you aren't there when they get out of school
and your players are going to wait at the school until practice starts then you
MUST have an adult present. Talk to your parents and maybe they can create a
rotation for supervision.
We, the Board, gets calls every year from the
principals of the schools when players are essentially abandoned at their
facility. The school district is NOT responsible for them after that final
bell.
This is especially true at the Middle School. Unless there is a
responsible adult the players may NOT be on any campus. And, that adult MUST be
Risk Managed and have an Admin form on file.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
See you on the pitch!
