QUICK TIP
When introducing yourself to coaches at the beginning of the match be sure you are also aware of who the Assistant Coach and other teams administrators are.
Then see if those individuals have cards on the ring of passes. Make sure your Assistant Referees are aware of who the Coaches/Admins are for their side of the touchline. Remember, in youth matches we MUST have a coach/administrator for the entire length of the match.
In the event you, as the referee, dismiss a coach from the field for Irresponsible Behavior it is critical for you to know a) if this game is now terminated or b) who the next coach/admin is that will take the dismissed coach's place.
This is not the time, at this emotional point in the match, to have to run over to your bag to figure out what to do next!
For single referee matches the same process applies. Know who the coaches/admin folks are before you start your match. On Valley Center recreational fields we do not have passes/credentials for coaches. For the most part though all of our coaches wear VCYS coach shirts. Find out who they are when you introduce yourself at the beginning of the match. Be aware.
Let me know if you have any questions!
See you all on the pitch!
