Diamond eReport #1, January 2010
Greetings!
I am excited to announce my new website! It will give you access to philosophical insights in the form of writings and recordings evolving from years of research and study. You'll find news and interactive content all designed to help you lead a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.

The new site at www.DrJohnDiamond.com has exclusive content available that you can download for free as well as content available for purchase that you won't find anywhere else.

The site has been developed by a dedicated team of long time students and teachers of my work, under the watchful eye of my wife and greatest supporter, Susan Diamond, a healer in her own right. This crew has worked enthusiastically to bring you information they feel will help along your path of healing.

Together, we present The Diamond Path of Life.

With gratitude for them as well as for you, the readers,

John Diamond, MD

A SIMPLE, QUIET MEDITATION by John Diamond, M.D.

If there is, if there should be, a purpose in meditation, then, to me, it is the Awareness of Guidance. With this in mind, here is a very simple, quiet meditation:

With your eyes closed, and preferably lying in the Alexander position, count backwards from 20 in a special way: 20 as you breathe in, 19 as you breathe out, and so on. After you've reached 1, just be aware of your breath, in and out. And say to yourself with every breath, "Being Breathed:" "Being" as you breathe in, and "Breathed" as you breathe out. That you are not breathing, but being breathed. By Guidance, by Other Power.

Then, after several such affirmations, just be quiet and observe yourself being breathed. That's all there is to it.

What if thoughts keep coming into my mind? How do I stop them? The thoughts, too, are Guided. And they will come and go, not according to your self-power but to Other Power. Every thought...read on

FEATURED STUDENT: Georgia Pike
John DiamondCongratulations go out to Georgia Pike, a lifelong student of Dr. Diamond's, who really embodies the spirit of music and health. This past year Georgia won a grant for a Seniors Singing Outreach Program which she leads along with her father, Andrew Pike. She also wrote and won a grant on behalf of Dr. Susan West for a Music Education Program. Both of these programs are based on the Diamond Method for Music

Georgia also won, along with Christian Doran, a ScreenACT production grant for 'The Singing Bug', an incredible  children's television series designed to bring the joy of singing to the community. Each episode will focus on a single song that will be taught to the children in the studio and the audience in their homes, schools or day care centres alike. Georgia, the host, will teach the words, the history and the game that goes with the song to the audience while a cartoon character called 'The Singing Bug' and his little sister talk about the songs in the world of their own imagining. There will also be an on-location segment each episode featuring real kids in real homes and schools learning about how singing and music can help themselves and the community and that no one should be scared of singing together. The content for the show is a direct application of the work of Dr. Susan West of the ANU Music Education Program, who has developed a set of 70 songs (10 songs for each year of primary school), songs which have all been chosen by children over 15 years of research and evaluation. The program will provide all children with an opportunity to actively engage with singing and the learning songs, much as children did in the age of radio.

Wait, there is more! Georgia also won the 'Best Lead Actress in a Musical' award and a Canberra Critics Circle Award, both for roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie

We can't wait to see what Georgia accomplishes in 2010!
