ACLU of GA

Dear ACLU of Georgia Supporter,

SB 458, the bill that would ban undocumented students from public higher education regardless of their academic credentials, and also amend HB 87 in some ways, will be taken up on the Senate floor today or later this week.

This bill is fundamentally unjust, economically shortsighted, and unnecessary.  If passed, Georgia will become only the 2nd state in the entire country to ban access to public higher education to undocumented students.

Please act now to ensure that high achieving undocumented students in our state who are already paying out-of-state tuition are not banned from our public colleges and universities.

Contact your State Senator now to ask that they oppose the language regarding the ban on public higher education.  Feel free to refer to the ACLU of Georgia fact sheet on SB 458 and HB 59, destroying the dreams bills, as you make those calls.  To find out who represents you in the Georgia State Senate visit
