ACLU of GA
Dear ACLU of Georgia Supporter,

I would like to invite all of you to join us at our next "By the People Day" program. We will meet next Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 9 am in Room 605 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building, 18 Capitol Square Southwest, Atlanta, GA 30334, located across the street from the south end of the State Capitol.  At this "By The People" Lobby Day, we will be focusing on immigrants' rights issues, including House Bill 59.  HB 59, "Destroying the Dreams" Bill is fundamentally unjust and economically shortsighted.

HB 59 would prohibit all 35 public universities and colleges as well as 26 in the Technical College System from admitting undocumented students, regardless of their academic creditials. This bill is economically shortsighted, fundamentally unjust, and unnecessary.

Nearby parking is available in the Pete Hackney parking deck, located at the corner of Jesse Hill Jr. Drive and Decatur Street, and the Underground Atlanta parking deck, located two blocks west of the Capitol on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The closest MARTA station is the Georgia State Station located in the Sloppy Floyd/Twin Towers complex.

As you know, freedom cannot protect itself. Your presence is essential to ensuring a government that is accountable to its People and to the Constitution.

Thank you for participating in this worthwhile endeavor.

Sincerely,

Chad Brock
