Securely Insecure: The Real Costs, Consequences & Human Face of Immigration Detention

More than 32,000 immigrants are held in ICE custody on any given night.  In Georgia, immigrants are detained in facilities in Atlanta, Gainesville, Lumpkin, and most recently Ocilla.  Three of the four are corporate-run.

The ACLU of Georgia and Georgia Detention Watch recently released a fact sheet on immigration detention titled: "Securely Insecure: The Real Costs, Consequences & Human Face of Immigration Detention."  You can find the fact sheet here.

Please feel free to circulate and make use of the fact sheet for educational and advocacy purposes.  Special thanks to Colleen Coveney, the ACLU of Georgia law clerk who helped put together the fact sheet.
