When the FBI Comes Knocking, Know Your Rights!
This Thursday, Dec. 2, @7pm, Join us for a "Know Your Rights," info. sharing session at American Friends Service Committee Building, 60 Walton St, 2nd floor.
Azadeh Shahshahani of the ACLU of Georgia and Brian Spears of the National Lawyers Guild Georgia Chapter will present information about what to do if you are visited by a government agent. The discussion will include the historical use of grand juries against progressive organizations and individuals and the necessity of defending the rights to dissent, speak, and associate without fear of government reprisal.

of human rights!
WHO: Human rights and social justice activists and advocates from around metro Atlanta.
WHAT: A roundtable discussion of immigrant rights as human rights, a diverse gallery of poster displays and literature tables, and a reception with light refreshments.
Roundtable will be facilitated by Azadeh Shahshahani of the ACLU of Georgia; other speakers will include Adelina Nicholls of the Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR); Deepali Gokhale, organizer for the Racial Justice Campaign Against Operation Meth Merchant; and Gina Perez of Georgia Dreamers.
