From Pastor Wes
"Choice of College"
Today some of our wonderful young people are with Pastor Matt and me checking out Eastern Nazarene College.
One of the most important choices a young person's makes is their choice of college or university. From that one choice, so many other choices will be influenced.
More often than not, they will change majors at least 1, 2 or 3 times and that is often because of the influence of a particular professor. That influence sets the direction for career choice.
The college chosen often impacts where they will live after college. At college they will likely meet the person they will marry.
So even the genetics of a young person's children will be dependent upon what school they choose to attend.
As important as these are, vastly more important are the spirtual outcomes. The school a young person chooses has great influence on whether they will follow Jesus Christ and be Christians in the years ahead.
Studies that I have read show that the majority of young Christians who attend non-Christian schools tend to lose their faith along the way. On the other side, the majority of young Christians who attend Christian schools graduate with their faith in Jesus Christ intact, and often much stronger.
"Be very careful, then, how you live-- not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity..."
Ephesians 5:15-16

The Church Jesus Builds, Opportunity for All!
Not only are all people invited to be part of the Church of Jesus Christ, but there is a place of opportunity and service for everyone. As Jesus traveled Palestine He welcomed and invited full participation in the Kingdom He was building. The same is true today. Every person is gifted for service in His Kingdom. Pastor Wes will lead us in the fifth part of our 11-part series on Christ's plan for His Church. Please prepare your hearts by praying for God's truth and presence to be with us as we come together to worship Him! |

Computers for Students
We have young people in our Church whose study and academic progress is hampered by not having access to home computers and printers to write papers and do assignments. If you or someone you know has ways of helping these young people, please speak with Pastor Wes.

Kids and Teen News
Hey, hey! It's Wednesday! Hope that the "hump day" is going well! Here are some notes from the land of teens and kids.
Since half of the youth group is currently in Boston, there will be no youth group tonight, but starting next week, we will be starting a new series! We are going to welcome Brian Lane, youth pastor to the Pennington Assembly of God Church to guest speak and kick off our next theme entitled HIStory. More information will be coming out on this new series next week.
Our teen bible quiz team is back in action this Saturday as we travel to Lansdale, PA to the Immanuel church of the Nazarene! We quizzing on Matthew Chapters 1-8. The goofy theme for the quiz is silly hats. Do you have any? Call Pastor Matt!
Sunday, immediately following service, we are going to the Mercer County Teen Rally call Surrender it's going to be a great time of worship and fellowship with many teens and young adults in the Mercer County Area. It will be held at the Mercer County Park by the Basketball Courts. Join us at 1p! There will be food, games, a basketball tourney and at 4p a service! Join us for some super fun in the Lord
We need some volunteers for the Harvest Party Later this month. Can you face paint? What about help making food? Can you help with policing children? Talk to Amy Weyna or Pastor Matt to find out more.
Wow! There is a lot happening this week! We pray that you are having an amazing, amazing day!

Please come a few minutes early so we can get this one before the whole group moves on to Session #5. Finally, men, don't forget to put November 10th from 9:00 to 1:00 on your calendar for compassionate woodcutting. Thanks to those who have signed up!
