"We Need Godly Men & Leaders!
Yesterday's newspapers carried the big headlines.
Trenton Mayor arrested on federal corruption charges.
So now, the mayors of the two largest cities in our county, Hamilton and Trenton, are both facing criminal proceedings. It can almost make one cynical: Do people seek office to help others anymore, or just to help themselves?
And so our cites join the long list of cities such as Detroit, Camden, Chicago, DC and many others where the elected officials progress from elected office to jail. How very sad!
The Bible says: "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." (Luke 16:10)
Integrity matters!
Little things matter!
Sometimes, even as Christians we face temptation to cut ethical corners or to take unfair advantage.
As Christian men we have a great opportunity and responsibility to show others that God leads us to do right even in the little things. This world needs us!
Let YOUR light so shine before men that they see YOUR good works and give glory to God!

 What is "worship"? Is it something one day a week? Is it when we're around other Christians? What's it all about? Like most areas of the Christian life, no matter what we know about "worship," God has more to teach us. At Grace Community Church we are a learning people because we are on a path to all that God has for us! Men Advancing in "The Quest"
 Men, we had session #2 of "The Quest" last evening, entitled "The Four Faces of Man." Powerful insights that help us along the path God has for us! Some guys were not able to make it last evening. If you were one of those, you'll be glad to know that next Tuesday we'll run the same session again. Please let me know if you are able to attend this catch-up session. --Pastor Wes Ken and Amy will be moving on September 28 & 29th. If you could help out with that for a few hours, please let Ken know. Chain saws, log splitter, guy stuff!! We are planning an event when we would help Earl and Miriam get their wood ready for the winter for their wood stove. At this point, it looks like November 10th might be the date. Mission to China Presentation
Ming and Joyce will be sharing about their recent mission trips into China on Sunday Evening, September 23 at 6:30. This presentation will include pictures and stories about how God lead them and some of what was accomplished through them and the team which they were part of. Refreshments will be served. |
Youth Sunday September 30
Be sure not to miss the last Sunday of September as our Youth and Young Adults lead us in worship! We're gonna praise the name of Jesus Christ as loud and as proud as we can! Invite friends and family to our second Youth Sunday as Pastor Matt will be speaking. It starts at the normal time of 10:45a, but the atmosphere will be anything but! What we can say is that our God is an awesome God and we will praise Him!

Children's Ministry
In the coming months we will be taking important steps forward in building our Children's Ministry and reaching out to new children. To have meaningful and effective ministry to these young lives, we need to have passionate and loving children's workers--people who love kids and care deeply about their lives and relationship with God. Please give prayerful consideration if you would be willing to give of yourself and your time to make a lifelong difference! Watch in the coming weeks for ways of becoming involved in this vital ministry. Respond as God leads you.

This will be a special time for our wonderful laypeople across this region as Dr. Jerry Porter, General Superintendent, will be guest speaker.
