"Join the Flash Mob!"

In the past decade we have seen the rise of "flash mobs,"  groups of people who assemble suddenly and surprisingly to perform an unusual act for a brief time, then they disperse.  Unfortunately, sometimes these are designed to do harm or vandalism, but other times they are arranged for entertainment or artistic expression.

Here are  two lovely flash mobs you'll enjoy seeing:
and
(make sure your speakers are turned on!)

It is a profound and enlightening "eureka" moment when you realize that what is taking place is not coincidence, but is a highly orchestrated event with much planning and preparation

Something that seems to begin as a random act transforms into the realization that you are the beneficiary of what others have planned and prepared for.   You are the fortunate recipient of the beauty and grace planned and given by others.

God tells us that "whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
--Colossians 3:17

God  calls us to be an ongoing flash mob within the world--to be "salt" and "light" wherever we are.  Sometimes we think we are just a lonely voice or presence, but God weaving each willing disciple of Jesus Christ into a surprising instrument of grace to the world.
Together, there is a symphony of beauty taking place--all coordinated by God.

So be part of that ongoing flash mob of God!  Surpise the world again with His beauty and grace.
Why? Sermon Series
questionmarkThis Sunday will be the final lesson in the teaching series: "Why?" Why do Christians hold the perspectives that they hold on particular issues?  Pastor Wes will lead us in a biblical study on leisure and entertainment.  Again, you're welcome to text Pastor Wes with your thoughts in advance at 609-226-9615 with an opportunity at the end of the service to address questions.  For more information, see the  "Why?" sermon series brochure here .

Could You Help with Meals?

Some families within our congregation will be going through great challenges in the weeks ahead, for example, Bob O. will be having open-heart surgery. Together, we could be a great help by providing meals.  If you are would be willing to be part of this important caring ministry by either preparing meals or buying prepared meals, please contact Pastor Wes for details. Thanks!

Women of Grace

"Seeking God's Renewal for Your Mind, Body and Soul"

The Summer Sunday School series for women is underway to great reviews! If you haven't yet been able to attend, you can still easily join in! The series features the Women of Faith DVD collection and this Sunday will be the second presentation by Sheila Walsh on the topic of emotional healing.  Nutrition and healthy-living tips are being shared as well. This will be a blessing for you and your life!    9:30 on Sunday Morning.

Summer Church Finances
Unfortunately, the summer downturn in finances was evident in June.  We ended the month $2200.00 below what is needed to keep up with our expenses. Summer is typically a challenging time financially for the Church. Tithes and offerings tend to go down, while the Church costs actually go up due to additional ministries, such as Vacation Bible School, special children and youth events, as well as lawn care, air conditioning, building repairs, etc. For example, we have just spent $1600.00 on repairing rotting wood on the Church's fascia and soffits and also for repairing the rain gutters that were causing the wood to rot. If you are able to give some extra in tithes and offerings, that will help to ensure that that we don't begin Fall ministry with financial shortfall.  Great things are happening at Grace Community Church and as we keep up with these important needs, we will see even more good things happen! Thank you so much for your faithfulness and generosity for the Kingdom!
