From Pastor Wes
"Underwear Bombers"
This week we get news about another plot to blow up planes. In our wildest imagination, we cannot relate to a person who would load a bomb into their underwear, and get on to a plane for the sole purpose of blowing themselves up and a group of other people they don't even know.
Rather than bombs or violence, God has given us clear instructions what we should wear. You can read it in Ephesians 5:11-17:
We are to clothe ourselves with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation and the Word of God. Rather than preparing to do violence to others, Christians are to always be prepared "to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." --1 Peter 3:15 Praise God we serve a loving heavenly Father who calls us to bring peace, joy and hope to a hurting world! May He Bless You Greatly This Week! |

Sermon Series: "Why?"
At Grace Community Church of the Nazarene we have specific beliefs and practices that we know aid and strengthen our Christian walk and influence. It is important to remember why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe. Do the beliefs and practices of a hundred years ago still have merit in 2012? The focus of this series is to understand what it means to develop and maintain Christian identity, character and influence according to the Bible and historical practices and to address questions related to our specific beliefs and practices
These are the anticipated topics in this series:
May 6: "Why?" Series Introduction, Christlike Identity and Character
May 13: "Why?: Godly Power and Influence
May 20: "Why?" Lotteries and Gambling
May 27: "Why?" Secret/Oath-Bound Societies;
June 3: "Why?" Alcohol and Drugs
June 10: "Why?": Words and Attitudes
June 24: "Why?" Marriage and Divorce
July 1: "Why?" Sanctity of Life
July 8 "Why?" Sexuality:
July 15: "Why?" Leisure and Entertainment
This series of sermons will challenge you! If you have specific questions or thoughts as we proceed, text or email them to Pastor Wes so we can dialogue on them.
