From Pastor Wes
Last night we joined with hundreds of thousands across the country to see the live premier of Kirk Cameron's new movie, "Monumental." Kirk sets to find out what has made America great and he does so exploring the history and the experiences of the first Pilgrims. This small band of oppressed people were dedicated to Jesus Christ and to principles that served as a solid foundation for what this nation would become in terms of liberty and prosperity. Not only the Pilgrim forefathers, but also the founding fathers 150 years later understood that liberty does not just happen. It only develops where the application of godly and biblical truths are present and preserved. Consider sometime how many of the free nations of the world have had a dominant Christian influence. Consider also how many of the repressive regimes of the world have either not had a Christian influence or have discarded it. The correlation is striking! These things do not just happen. Freedom comes from ideas and those ideas come from somewhere. Human freedom is God's idea For several decades now there has been a strong push on the part of some people to ignore, revise and remove the Christian foundations of America. Cameron's presentation gives us a much needed review of truth and a corrective for our memories. In the Gospel of John God gives us the keys to freedom: when "you know the truth, the truth will set you free." and if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:32, 36)
God Bless You Today! --Pastor Wes

Easter Offering for World Mission
Grace Community Church has no greater mission than reaching those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and then helping them become Christ-like disciples. We do that locally. We also support that globally through Nazarene Missions International. Every Easter we receive offerings to support global ministry. This year our goal is $1200.00. Please pray about what you could do to share Christ's love. |
Kids and Teen News
Happy Wednesday, Grace Community! Hope that this week has been Christ-Inspired and Spirit Filled! Here is what is happening in the lives of our Children and Youth this week! What does it mean to be a "game changer"? How can we be a game changer in our world? How is God a game changer? We begin a brand new topic in youth group called GameChangers. Join us at 7p on Wednesday Night & journey with us as we learn how to become GameChangers in our world. We are also going to unpack how God was (and still is!) the Almighty GameChanger. On April 7th, the Youth Group is going to Immanuel COTN (Lansdale, PA) for the Philly District's Teen Bible Quizzing Finals. We are putting the last pieces together on quizzing as we start quizzing next season starting in August. Come and fellowship with us! How would you like to minister to our kids and teens this summer? There are a lot of different events this summer! In July, we have Vacation Bible School called Sky! Two weeks later, we are sending our teens to Summer Camp in Pembroke, PA. After that we have two weeks of Kids Camp! Also, Young Adults, we haven't forgotten about you at all! There is a Young Adults Retreat in June! Talk to Pastor Matt if you are interested ASAP! Click here for the flyer. Coming Soon to our church, Youth Sunday! (Stay Tuned for more information!)
As always, please keep our children and youth in prayer. 2012 has already been an amazing year for us and we are still so excited for what God has in store for us!

Extreme Church Makeover at Media
On May 31 through June 2, there will be an intensive three days to enhance, change, improve, help a local church on our district. The Media, PA church is pastored by Rev. Dawn Reed-Snell who was our revival speaker a few years ago. Together, with Nazarenes from across our District we are going to give a "shot in the arm" to the folks at Media. There is much to do, including landscaping, trees to be cut down, mulch to be spread, sidewalks to be repaired, bushes to be trimmed, window replacement, roofing, painting and more. We will also be doing a VBS as our outreach project. The theme will be "Mission to Mars." We will be reaching out to the surrounding neighborhood with flyers and each night we will be conducting a VBS. Housing will be made available, food to be provided and a great weekend serving the Lord together will happen. We are asking for a financial contribution of $90 for the three days to help this small church cover the costs of food, housing and insurance. We'd like to see at least 6 people from Grace Community who would be willing to commit to helping this other Church. Please sign up here . |
