Doesn't it  seem like world events are moving forward at an evermore breakneck speed.

And our individual lives and families are overworked and overrun with the to-do lists and duty calling.

I'm sure you can relate to this:  It's early Wednesday morning and I've already worked  34 hours since Monday morning.
 No, I'm not complaining!
 I've enjoyed every moment of it and am so thankful for what has been accomplished!

In the midst of it, God speaks quietly "Be still, and know that I am God."  So I stop, sit, reflect and listen.

A few  minutes of quiet and rest in the presence of the Lord is a delightful thing!

King David, a really busy man, said:
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.   My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." (Ps 42:1)

I pray that you may have good times of refreshing this week!

On the Road to the Cross
Easter Cross;
As Jesus was making that final trip to Jerusalem, He knew that He would be arrested, tortured and then death on the cross. Yet He kept His focus on the Father's will--to deliver the captives and set people free!   This Sunday Pastor Wes will be continuing the Easter sermon series "On the Road to the Cross."
What matters to Jesus, matters!
Mission 2012 at Grace Community
Locally,
we are moving forward in our ministry to children and youth; Regionally, we are helping to support students at Eastern Nazarene College and ministry across the greater Philadelphia area;
Globally, we assist in supporting 737 missionaries around the world.

The Church of the Nazarene has no greater mission than reaching those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and then helping them become Christ-like disciples. Together we have an impact far beyond this corner in pointing people to Jesus Christ.

Mission 2012 Offering: Funding the Mission
On Sunday, our congregation was presented with a simple and effective plan for funding the mission of Grace Community Church for 2012 called Mission 2012 Offering. As Christians, we are instructed in the  Bible to  tithe 10% of  our income in honor and obedience  to God.  In addition to the basic tithe, we also give offerings as we are able which support ministries of the Church.  Mission 2012 Offering focuses on both global mission and local mission, support of missions around the world as well as investment in our children and youth ministry. The goal is to have 25 people committing $2.00 per day from the beginning of March to the end of the year.  That equals $14 per week, $60 per month or $600 for the year.  With 25 people supporting Mission 2012 Offering, that would enable the Church to give $3,750.00 to global mission and $11,250.00 of support to our local ministry to children and youth.

*UPDATE*  Since  the Mission 2012 Offering challenge was presented on Sunday, we have had 14 people who have pledged to support the remainder of the year!  This is terrific!  We are well on the way already to building the foundation for empowering these ministries!   Praise be to God and thank you for this wonderful response.  As you contribute, please be sure to mark your offering to "Mission 2102 Offering"

SpringTimeChangeTime Change This Weekend
Sorry to have to remind you, but it's this weekend we lose that much needed hour because we have to put our clocks forward one hour.  How do you cope with it?  Some people change all their clocks on Saturday during the day so that they "lose" one hour of day rather than one hour of sleep.  Maybe a good idea, since we really don't need one less hour of sleep!

Kids and Teen News
Happy Wednesday, Grace Community! Hope that this week has been Christ-Inspired and Spirit Filled! Here is what is happening in the lives of our Children and Youth this week!

Today, the Youth Group finishes our series on the Armour of God with The Shoes of the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace. Come and discover what that means as we eat, argue, goof around and just have a great time in the Lord!

How would you like to minister to our kids and teens this summer? There are a lot of different events this summer! In July, we have Vacation Bible School called Sky! Two weeks later, we are sending our teens to Summer Camp in Pembroke, PA. After that we have two weeks of Kids Camp!

Also, Young Adults, we haven't forgotten about you at all! There is a Young Adults Retreat in June! Talk to Pastor Matt if you are interested ASAP!

We are also planning to have another VBS meeting later this month. Look out for some more information!

Coming Soon to our church, Youth Sunday! (Stay Tuned for more information!)

As always, please keep our children and youth in prayer. 2012 has already been an amazing year for us and we are still so excited for what God has in store for us!

Later Days!

Updates and Kudos: Mission Dinner and Men's Tuesday Group
Great selection of foods from around the world as we enjoyed the Mission Dinner together.  Thanks for all the delicious contributions and the team work in making it happen!   Our next meal together will be Easter Sunday morning breakfast on April 8.

Also a great men's group last night as we launched our new series entitled   "Can a man have victory over the sin in his life, or must we be stuck in the same sins over and over again?"   Good thoughts and powerful insights as twelve guys grappled with the biblical definition of sin.
