Personal Message
From Pastor Wes:
Remember those "face in a hole" paintings we liked as kids? We could go behind the board and get pictures taken of ourselves as Superman, Cinderella or "American Gothic."
True confession:
Just last month Sarah and I put our faces in a wooden cutout and had our pictures taken as Santa and Mrs. Claus.
What makes it so funny is how incongruous it is: the faces really don't match the bodies that are painted on the other side of the board. And so we all laugh at the silliness of it.
The Apostle Paul says that Jesus Christ is the "head over everything for the church, which is his body..."
(Ephesians 1:22-23)
Christ puts His head on the body we call the Church.
When the Church is truly being "The Church"--it fits!
When the church is unloving, unholy, unforgiving or ungraceful, the world laughs because the Head and the body do not match...it looks just plain silly.
I praise God for the great privilege of being part of a church which matches wonderfully with the head and lordship of Jesus Christ!
Truly a community of faith where the beauty of Christ shines through the whole body and
Christ is honored!
God Bless YOU today!

Our Church Annual Meeting
This Sunday will be a time to celebrate what God has done in our midst during the past year and look forward to what He has for us in 2012. The theme of the service will be "What does Christ and His Church mean to you?" Come out and hear testimonies and reports of praise to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ! We will also be electing the Church Leaders for the coming Church Year.

Voting for New Church Name
This Sunday we'll also be voting for the new Church name! Here are the two options: "Grace Community Church of the Nazarene" "New Life Community Church of the Nazarene"
All Full and Associate Members will be able to vote. Pray about which of these best represents our ministry for the years ahead. |

Tea and Inspiration: Ladies' Tea This Saturday
There's been a great response to the Ladies' Tea which will be held this Saturday with over 30 ladies signed up! This will be a wonderful time of ministry and outreach. Don't forget that there will be a gift table with items for supporting this ministry--"Tea and Inspiration To Go." Also, our special speaker, Carrie Turansky, will have copies of her books for sale and signing. Please keep this vital ministry in your prayers.

Hey and Hello everyone! Hope that all is well! Here is the skinny on what's been going down with the teens and youth at our church.
No Youth Group today, but we will have Worship Team Practice on Tuesday!
Kid wise, the VBS material came in a few weeks ago! VBS will be in mid-July this summer! We are going to need crew leaders, station leaders, registration monitors and other helpers. We also need actors, artists, people who can lead games, arts and crafts and much more. Check out this commercial from Group VBS about Sky by clicking here.

Youth & Ladies Ministries Rummage Sale
Save your stuff! There are a great variety of events being planned for ministry for our youth and for the ladies during 2012. To help fund these, we will have a rummage sale in the Spring. Any and all items that you can collect, put aside and donate for this sale would be deeply appreciated. Together, we will do something amazing for these ministries! |
Pastors at Prayer Retreat
Pastors Wes and Matt are joining other pastors from across our Philadelphia Nazarene District for a prayer retreat at Saint Mary's of Providence Center in Elverson, PA this week. A valuable time for pastors to pray for our congregations and one another, for our district and churches. We'd appreciate your prayers today and tomorrow. You can get further information about the retreat at Pastor's Prayer Retreat or learn more about the Retreat Center itself at St. Mary's.
