Our Israel Fellow: Simona
Simona is about to graduate from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where she is majoring in Political Science and Geography. She grew up in the city of Nazareth which is in the north of Israel and lives in Jerusalem today. After finishing high school she joined the Israeli army and served as a tank simulator instructor. Days after finishing her army service she was already on a plane to North Carolina to work as a camp counselor for Young Judaea. Ever since her Jewish American Camp experience, she has a warm place in her heart for Young Judaea. Simona has also worked for Young Judea's gap year program, Year Course as well as Tel Yehuda Summer camp and summer programs in Israel. Over the last three years, during her time at University, Simona worked for the Jewish Agency's summer camps program. She's very excited to be joining Hopkins Hillel and can't wait to get on a plane to the states once again...
