Dear Friends:
As
the nation celebrates Independence Day, this 4th of July, we here at
the Community Healing Network want to encourage Black people everywhere
to join us in declaring our independence from the myth of Black
inferiority--the toxic idea that Black people are not as lovable,
smart, beautiful, capable, and worthy as other people. Please
mark your calendars now for October 15, 16, and 17 to celebrate
Community Healing Days, three days set aside each year on the third
weekend of October, to raise awareness about the continuing negative
effects of the myth of Black inferiority and to mobilize Black people to free ourselves from it.
Our
goal for this third annual celebration of Community Healing Days is to
have thousands of Black people in all fifty states and in as many
foreign countries as possible committing to Wear Sky Blue to
show our collective determination to turn the pain of the blues into
the sky blue of unlimited possibilities. With your help, we know that
we can do it!
Please make a commitment to wear something sky blue on Community Healing Days, October 15, 16, and 17, and please help us spread the word
to unite Black people around this easy, but powerful, statement of
commitment to emotional emancipation. We are working on sky blue
wristbands and ribbons that will be available at low cost. But you can
participate in the Wear Sky Blue campaign by wearing any item of clothing made out of any color blue that resembles the blue sky on a bright, sunny day.
Sign up. Join the movement and join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
Sincerely, Enola G. Aird Community Healing Network, Inc www.communityhealingnet.org

P.S.
Please help us make this the decade of emotional emancipation for Black
people. We are a grassroots, low overhead, volunteer-run organization.
Your gift of any amount will help. Please donate today using the secure
