Soul Development
By Wes Hopper | |
Wallace Wattles said, "No one can rise to their greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless they have plenty of money."
This is the first in a series on key ideas from Wallace Wattles writings. One of the biggest errors that many people make is to consider money as non-spiritual, or even anti-spiritual. In Wallace Wattles classic book, The Science of Getting Rich, he addresses that error in the first paragraph of Chapter 1. He says that we need money for soul development. Now why would he say that?
He says it from personal experience. Having lived much of his early adult life in poverty he knew that if we struggle every day for the necessities of life, we have little time or energy for other things.
What was your emotional response to that quote? How did it make you feel? Your answer will tell you a lot about your real beliefs about money. Here's the way that the Universe works with our beliefs: "You get to be right about that."
If you have negative beliefs about money or rich people, you will drive money away, no matter how hard you work. Some rich people are jerks. Some are generous philanthropists. The money is neutral. Do you have all the money you need for your soul development?
If not, there's work to be done.

Just Say "No" to Aging | | | A provocative new book from a Harvard psychologist suggests that changing how we think about our age and health can have dramatic physical benefits. Ellen Langer's theory, argued in her new book, Counterclockwise, is that we are all victims of our own stereotypes about aging and health. We mindlessly accept negative cultural cues about disease and old age, and these cues shape our self-concepts and our behavior. Click Here to Read |
| The Secret of Parenting | | |
Dr. Laura Markham of AHA Parenting discusses the secret of parenting - "a close connection to our kids. Before you say "Duh, of course..." please hear me out. Nothing else you do really matters without this. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Connection is 90% of parenting." Click Here to Read |

Ultimate Game |
| |
In reviewing Christian Lehmann's young adult novel Ultimate Game, Christina Hamlett says, "The book is a fast-paced read and embraces two dark, very real themes. The first is the obsessive nature of virtual gaming and the insularity it breeds in young people whose time might be better spent reading books, playing outdoors and interacting with friends. Secondly is the anesthetizing effect that violent video games and movies have on impressionable young minds. " Read her full review for a deeper look at Ultimate Game. Click Here to read article |

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees." Amelia Earhart |

Redirecting Children's Behavior Course
Venice, Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch
http://www.lifelessonsofmanasota.com/test.html | | | Redirecting Children's Behavior is a powerful course designed to help you create the family of your dreams. The course creates family wellness by incorporating positive parenting skills that establish healthy emotional and physical aspects of ALL family members. I have taught lunch 'n learns at work locations, coaching in homes, and workshops/courses because when parents have the skills they need they are able to establish stability and wellness in both their home and work environments.
Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB) gives parents, grandparents, teachers, and any person involved with children, fast, effective ways to become calmer, more confident and to teach their children to be responsible and cooperative.
