President's Corner
Dear Antrim Patrons,
Well, another year is nearly behind us. 2011 was a very exciting one for Antrim. As we prepared for our Diamond Jubilee we brought you wonderful productions like The Graduate, Wait Until Dark, All Shook Up, Chapter Two, Biloxi Blues and Antrim Antics Hits The Big Time. We continued to make improvements to our theater by staging a clean up day where over 25 volunteers cleaned inside and out from top to bottom to get us ready for the season. We have made improvements to our sound system which I'm sure you will appreciate when you come to see Grease in April. We have re-graveled the entire parking lot so our patrons will have an easier time during the coming winter months. We welcomed many new members and volunteers to our "family" during the year and their support and hard work has been invaluable in keeping our theater running smoothly. We also lost a very dear friend, Blanche Rothstein. We still feel this loss deeply and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Gordon and her family.
We ended 2011 on a very high note as we hosted Danielle Rudess and The Helen Hayes Youth Theater in December. This wonderful group of talented actors and technicians put on 3 amazing productions, Aladdin, Spring Awakening and The Music Man featuring casts in their teens. They also presented The Music Man Workshop and The Secret Garden featuring younger actors. The shows were incredible and the actors and staff could not have been friendlier or more professional. I want to personally thank Danielle, Kyle and everyone in the company for making this a memorable experience for Antrim.
2012 is shaping up to be just as exciting as 2011. In January we bring you the thriller Dial M For Murder directed by Melinda Pinto. Coming in March is the off-beat comedy Arsenic And Old Lace directed by...well...me. In April, we take you back to the rockin' and rollin' 1950's with Grease directed and choreographed by Randy Accardi. We end our season in June with the award winning Of Mice And Men directed by Brooke Malloy. For complete information on all of our shows and all the happenings at Antrim visit us at www.antrimplayhouse.com.
Thank you again for your support and I look forward to seeing you at the theater. Sincerely,
Marty Andreas President - Antrim Players (845) 664-0689 - phenmar@optonline.net ____________________________________________________________________________
