President's Corner
Dear Members,
I want to take a moment to thank Brooke Malloy and the cast and crew of The Graduate for doing an absolutely fantastic job on that production. The critics and audiences loved it and we even had an Antrim first. After the last performance Joe Miceli, who played Benjamin, proposed on stage to Mary Norey, who was wonderful as Elaine Robinson. And, yes, she accepted. We wish them the best. Although the weather did not cooperate with us during this run I want to thank everyone who braved the snow, ice and cold to enjoy this great show. I realize the parking lot was treacherous and at one performance we had to escort patrons into the theater but we will plan to do better next winter. Our 74th consecutive season continues as we bring you Wait Until Dark. Director Randy Accardi, who you surely remember as the director/choreographer for such Antrim classics as Cabaret, Little Shop Of Horrors, Fiddler On The Roof, West Side Story, Miss Saigon, Dracula and Assassins, along with the cast and crew have pulled out all the stops to bring you this spine tingling thriller. Please take special note of the washing machine. We couldn't find one to fit the set and didn't know what we were going to do. Our set builder, Steve St. George, came to the rescue and made one from scratch. Our remaining 2 shows this season are shaping up to put an exclamation point on what has been one of our most successful seasons yet. Our Spring musical event will be All Shook Up" a wonderful story woven around songs by "The King" Elvis Presley and directed by Melinda Pinto. This show runs for 5 weeks beginning in April. We end our season in June, as we began it, with another Neil Simon classic, Chapter Two directed by Joan Brock. For complete details visit us at www.antrimplayhouse.com In addition to the main stage productions mentioned above we are also presenting another installment of Antrim Antics, titled Antrim Antics II or Just When You Thought It Was Safe To Come Back To Antirm. This hilarious night of comedy, music and improv will be presented on April 1st and 2nd. Check our website at www.antrimplayhouse.com for information. Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing you at Antrim.
Sincerely,
Marty Andreas President - Antrim Players (845) 664-0689 - phenmar@optonline.net ____________________________________________________________________________
