CAN YOU BE... YOUR VALENTINE?
In this month of celebrating love and friendship through Valentine's Day, the comment Eleanor Roosevelt once made comes to mind: "Friendship with oneself is all-important because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world."
What is the quality of your relationship with YOU? Do you have inner-directed compassion and caring? Or are you your own worst critic? Perhaps this month is the time to start being more loving and accepting of who you are. And by doing so enhance your friendships as well.
How do you get to that place? Feng Shui can help pave the way. Incorporating symbols that represent loving and compassion into your home can be a powerful trigger for bringing in caring, healthy relationships - either with yourself, a friend or a lover. Reminders of what you want, thinking about them often, can be powerful. So what are the metaphors you can use? |
LOVING TIPS
The simplest and most logical enhancement in Feng Shui is a pair of objects to remind you that it takes two to tango. The colours of pink, white and red also contribute to the cause. And having a clear intention of your goal is essential to bring in the Law of Attraction: thoughts are energy; that which you think about you manifest.
Feng Shui teaches us that everything in our environment sends us messages energetically. For those who wish to focus on an intimate relationship, you can create an atmosphere of romance, beauty and abundance for yourself and that very special person in your life.
Use soft, dimmed lighting; candles to energize the room;generous table linens; spicy, savoury aromas in the kitchen; seductive music in the background; soft textures on the couch; sweet, fragrant scents in the bedroom; scented robes and floral arrangements in profusion.
Flowers always add a loving and beautiful message - exquisite and bounteous - they reflect for you and yours the generosity of love and beauty in your surroundings....and your relationships, be they with your spouse, your best friend or your lover.

ROLE MODELS?
It is no secret that the hottest couple these days is Barack and Michelle. It would have been difficult NOT to notice their affectionate communication in the press, both during the US presidential campaign last year and the inauguration in January. Gentle fist bumps, loving glances, whispered support, inviting body language. Their message was loud and clear: they adore each other! The mutual respect, affection and authenticity they express is present, and I would guess, is as much for themselves as it is for each other. They are also best friends. |
