GROUP CYCLING & IZONE | | |
To continue offering the best services to our members, and as part of our Rec Center Renovation, we will begin offering Group Cycling classes. These indoor cycling classes simulate outdoor cycling experiences. Classes use a combination of visualization and music cues with self-directed resistance to experience a personal level of exercise intensity. There will be morning and evening classes available each week. Jump-start your personal fitness program with Group Cycling!
Fun for the family, our new Interactive Family Zone (IZONE) will get you up and moving! Our interactive fitness equipment and game consoles allow members to enjoy an exhilarating, full-body workout and have fun playing, all at the same time! Popular traditional games like foosball, air hockey, billiards, and shuffleboard are now mixed-in with computer-based games like Kinect, Wii, Playstation 3, Dance Dance Revolution, and our exciting new Exerbikes. With fun games that get you up and moving, the IZone offers something for everyone. |
| PLAY HERE | |
At the Y, "play time" can de-stress, bring families closer together, or fulfill the need for challenge and camaraderie. The ability to "play" seems to get lost as we age and mature, but is vital to our health and well-being. Invite your friends to play at the Y. If they join September 6-27, we'll waive their joining fee; families save $100! |
| unTAPPED POTENTIAL | |
Join us at the Clubhouse in Hills Quarter on October 8 from 4:00-8:00 pm for unTapped Potential, our latest YMCA fundraiser benefitting the Guardian program. Taste a variety of craft beers on tap from the best microbreweries in Virginia! Tickets are $35 per person and include unlimited tastings, delicious bratwursts and dancing to live music by Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys.
A special silent auction ("Yeast Meets Best") will offer the chance to untap potential by bidding on lessons with talented community members in areas such as art, sports, cooking, photography, personal finance and more.
Proceeds provide financial assistance to families and individuals in our community, allowing them to participate in membership and programs such as childcare, preschool, health & wellness, summer camp, Bright Beginnings, youth & adult sports and much more.

| EASIER PROGRAM SEARCH COMING | |
In an effort to make it easier for our members to find and register for programs we are making some updates to our online program search.
Beginning September 7th a new program search bar will replace the program list you may be familiar with. You'll simply type the name of the program or a program keyword and a list of options will appear. It's that easy! Nothing has changed in the actual program registration process, only the program search will be updated.
To view a short video click here.
We hope this makes it easier and faster to find the programs you are looking for.
