Complete Wellness Assessment

Join us the morning of February 20th for a series of interactive stations designed to give you an accurate picture of your current fitness level.  You choose the number of stations to complete - do one, or do all.  Stations include: Blood Pressure, 3-Minute Step Test (for Cardio Respiratory Endurance), Body Composition Analysis, Flexibility Test, and Upper Body Muscle Endurance Test. 

 
The Complete Wellness Assessment is free to all.  Registration is required in advance, call or visit the Y today.

February swim lessons are scheduled.  The lessons are Monday and Wednesday evenings February 22 through March 17.

Cost is $30 for members $50 for program participants.  Hurry and register today, space is very limited!
 

Breastfeeding Encounter Group

The Breastfeeding Encounter Group is an opportunity for prenatal mothers and breastfeeding mothers to get together and share thoughts, concerns, issues, and successes with the assistance of Maternal Child Health Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Tippie DeLeo RN, BSN.  A new topic is planned for each session to provide the latest breastfeeding information based on the most recent research.

 
The group will meet Friday mornings from 10:00 - 11:30 am beginning January 29th.  There is no cost, it is free to all. Light refreshments will be served. For more information contact the Healthy Baby Program of the Northern Neck, 804-724-1408.

Coffee House

Join us Friday March 19 from 7:00 - 10:30 pm, at the Lancaster Playhouse in White Stone, for a relaxed evening of live music performed by local artists!  Tickets are $15.00 and include snacks, coffee, soft drinks and a cash bar.  Open Mic from 9:30-10:30 (sign-ups 6:00-7:00).  Hosted by the always hilarious Dave Bresett and Ben Estes.  For tickets or more information, including performance, volunteer or sponsorship opportunities, stop by the Welcome Desk or contact Susan Johnson at sjohnson@peninsulaymca.org.

Give 2 Hours and Change the Life of a Child
 
The Northern Neck Mentoring and Academic Enrichment Program needs you!  Donating 2 hours of your time each week fills a void, fills a heart, and fills the academic, social, and emotional needs of children in Lancaster County. Make a lasting impression by having a photo or drawing permanently displayed on a wall-tile at the YMCA.  Bring in a family photo, go to Picture Me and have your photo taken, or make a drawing!  Tile sizes are 6 x 6 in. for $75, or 4 x 4 in. for $50.
