Hey Buddy Can You Spare a Dime?
Ben Estes, board member for the Northern Neck Family YMCA, started a campaign to send area children to YMCA summer day camp. Dumping the change from his pocket one night, Ben realized that many people do the same thing and have spare change lying around. Why not collect it and help a family in need? Buying mason jars from local merchants and decorating them, he sat in the Y lobby on April 3 handing jars to members. Members have until May 30 to turn them in to the Y, or attend a change counting picnic at Bank of Lancaster in Kilmarnock from 11 - 1.

Common Sense Pain Management
- Do you suffer from chronic pain of the neck and shoulders, hips, knees, feet, low back, or headaches?
- Does it keep you from working, playing sports or doing the things you love?
- Are you still in pain in spite of medication, surgery, chiropractic, or other forms of treatment?
- Are you searching for ways to stay flexible and strong as you age?
The Wyne Method {of Common-Sense Pain Management}, created by massage therapist and former personal trainer Troy Wyne, is designed to help you learn the underlying root cause of pain and simple, life-changing techniques to increase your strength and energy levels, restore your flexibility and decrease your pain. Pain and injury are not inevitable, nor are they just what happens when you age. They're preventable when you know the basics of good posture, and how to use your body correctly. Participants of all ages report increased energy levels, increased range of motion, deeper, more restful sleep and increased athletic performance.
The next seminar is scheduled for Saturday May 16 from 9 am to 12 noon. Cost is $35 for Members, $45 for Program Participants. Register in person at the YMCA or online by visiting our website. |
