 Marion's Way Preschool

Educating Children who are

 Deaf and Hard of Hearing

"We had a wonderful experience last year at Marion's Way Preschool. We live over an hour away but it was well worth the drive. Not only was the experience the best thing that has happened for our son's education but it helped us, as parents, immensely. We were able to take the strategies and techniques that were used to teach him and relay that to the teachers in his mainstream preschool. What we learned during the parent education part of the program was so valuable. Getting to know the other parents and hear their stories was just one great aspect of it. We are really looking forward to doing it again this year!"

-Mother of a Marion's Way Student

The dates of this year's Marion's Way Preschool are June 19-July 26. This program is a unique, diagnostic preschool for children who are deaf or hard of hearing with oral language goals (with visual communication supplemented, as needed). Eight children will be selected to attend this 6-week preschool.

Parents and teachers can visit our website for detailed information on the program including tuition rates and the student application packet.

"Signs of hope: Hearing impaired Uganda emigrant takes on English and ASL thanks to Downs Hearing Center..."
Read all about Anthony Sserunjogi experience as a Uganda emigrant who is deaf and hard of hearing.

"When I came here, I did not know American Sign Language at all," Sserunjogi said through an interpreter on a recent chilly afternoon at the Marion Downs Hearing Center at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. Speaking in ASL, his hand gestures were confident and his facial expression pensive as he recalled his first lessons in a new language. "In 2008, my doctor told us about the University of Colorado Hospital and that the Marion Downs Hearing Center could help me..."
