Greetings!
December has been a particularly fun month with festive holiday parties keeping us busy. At each, we were reminded of how much the Marion Downs Hearing Center family has grown through the addition of new outreach programs and the expansion of others. After a year of hard work, it is rewarding to step back and see why we do what we do.
Whenever we gather with families who are challenged with hearing loss, the mood and atmosphere is festive: the common bond of hearing loss serves as a reminder that we are not alone on this journey! However hearing loss impacts your life, we hope your interaction with the Marion Downs Hearing Center this year has made a difference.
Happy Holidays to you and your family! MDHC Staff

Annual DHH Family Holiday Party Successful |
|
 |
Event Attracts Local Media Attention
Our annual holiday party for families with deaf and hard of hearing children took place on December 12. It was a huge success! The event, co-sponsored by Hands & Voices and CSDB, has become very popular! Over 40 families filled our building for the party. Those who were able to come enjoyed meeting Santa, decorating cookies, and hearing Christmas stories. The local media stopped by and featured the event on the evening news.
This event was made possible through the generous support and partnership of Colorado Families for Hands & Voices and the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. Thank you for your passion!
The Columbine Sertoma Club in Aurora donated the children's books that Santa and his elves distributed to each child at the party. Thank you, Columbine!
Finally, many volunteers offered their time and energy to whip up bowls of frosting, hang decorations, play with the children, and clean up afterward. Thank you for giving back and demonstrating the true spirit of the holidays!

He founded the Minnesota Weatherguide Environment Calendars which are distributed throughout the country. Dick is currently a part of the University of Minnesota Biotechnology Institute.
