MDHC/UCH First to Complete Advanced Cochlear Implant Surgery |
This month, Cochlear Corporation released its most advanced cochlear implant system, the Nucleus 5. It features the industry's smallest sound processor as well as the thinnest implant.
In September, Jim Miller, a retired airline mechanic, was the recipient of the first Nucleus 5 cochlear implant in the entire country. The surgery, conducted by Otolaryngologist Dr. Steven Cass at University of Colorado Hospital, went very well and Mr. Miller is now under the care of Ginny Lupo, a member of our Audiology team. You can view the local media coverage of this exciting story here. Congratulations to the entire team! |

Sertoma Clubs to Host Fundraiser for MDHC |
The Sertoma Clubs of Central Colorado are hosting a fundraising event scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Once again the Sertoma Clubs are being very generous to the MDHC and the MDHC Foundation by offering part of the proceeds from this event to the MDHC preschool program. The event will be held at the new Infinity Park Event Center, 4400 East Kentucky Avenue in Glendale, CO, and tickets are $50 for each person (see flyer attached). To purchase tickets, contact MDHC Board Members Al Keeler (303-771-0395) or Gary Voelker (303-770-3320).
Rumor has it that they are selling a car and a motorcycle at the auction (in addition to many other items), so maybe you can get your shopping and your wine tasting done all in one evening!
