Kimberley Process Plenary Update
The Kimberley Process (KP) Plenary concluded on November 3rd with its monitoring system still intact, but also with Zimbabwe and its diamonds again included in the KP. This is a serious challenge for U.S. businesses, because these diamonds are prohibited from purchase in the U.S. regardless of the KP's decision. Read JA's advice regarding this issue.

Children's Cadmium Safety Standard is Set
ASTM International voted to approve a national Children's Jewelry Safety Standard, which includes limits on cadmium content in children's jewelry. JA was part of the Jewelry Safety Coalition that supported the standard, along with the Fashion Jewelry & Accessories Trade Association and MJSA. Learn about the standard from MJSA.
