How to Sell Jewelry Repairs
The 2010 Jewelers of America Cost of Doing Business Report revealed that repairs remain an important sales category, bringing in 10% of sales in 2010. Use the Repair Sales article series in JA's Education Resource Library to learn how to capitalize on customers who need repairs. This excerpt from, "Selling Jewelry Repairs," provides the first step to approaching repairs sales:

The Right Attitude
A good starting point is to look at your own personal attitude toward selling repair services, as compared to selling the merchandise in your cases. There is no repair sale in the world that can rival the excitement and thrill of selling a big diamond. However, selling repairs is an important part of your job, because it is one of the most valuable services you can offer your customers. Making a repair customer happy will most likely lead to many future merchandise sales.
