GREEN-COLLAR JOBS PROVIDE PROMISE FOR THE FUTURE Mile High Youth Corps engages youth in jobs that help the planet and provide pathways to a promising future.
WHAT ARE GREEN-COLLAR JOBS? Green-collar jobs are blue-collar jobs in green industries. The "green" in green-collar is about preserving and enhancing environmental quality. Green-collar jobs are in the growing industries that are helping us kick the oil habit, curb greenhouse-gas emissions, eliminate toxins, and protect natural systems. Like traditional blue-collar jobs, green-collar jobs range from low-skill, entry-level positions to high-skill, higher-paid jobs, and include opportunities for advancement in both skills and wages.
GREEN-COLLAR JOBS AT MILE HIGH YOUTH CORPS Mile High Youth Corps members are planting trees and building parks, constructing green buildings, installing energy-efficiency measures and high-efficiency toilets in low-income homes and community organizations, and so much more. The Corps engages youth in entry-level green jobs and training in Energy and Water Conservation, Public Land Conservation and Green Building.

Get Your Groove on at the Papadosio Show at Quixotes True Blue, Friday, September 26th, Doors @ 7 p.m. |
|
Being lovers of a multitude of musical styles, Papadosio set out on a path to combine rootsy and eclectic styles with modern electronica. Since 2006 they have been performing to audiences hungry for something different, while feeding their own appetite for the same. Delighted that this fusion of genres is working, Papadosio strives to bring their musical vision to everyone with an open mind. Papadosio and Back to Earth Productions are supporting MHYC by promoting Corps jobs and volunteer opportunities at this show and donating a portion of the proceeds to the Corps.
