JLTV to Broadcast Live
from AIPAC Policy Conference
in Washington DC
For the second sequential year, JLTV will broadcast the major events and speakers of one of the Jewish community's most important annual conferences - the AIPAC Policy Conference, to be held in Washington DC from May 22 to 24, 2011. Nearly 10,000 American supporters of Israel are expected to attend. The AIPAC Policy Conference is considered to be the single most influential platform for shoring up support for US-Israeli friendship and cooperation. For security purposes, the full roster of this year's keynote speakers will be released just prior to the opening session. Among speakers confirmed to date and released for announcement are Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH), US Senators Harry Reid (D-NV, Majority Leader), Robert Casey (D-PA), John Thune (R-SD), Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA, Majority Leader), Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD), and former Director of the CIA Jim Woolsey. JLTV will post details of the AIPAC broadcast schedule on its website as the schedule of speakers is released.

Branko Lustig's Monumental
Bar Mitzvah Broadcast Live on
JLTV Draws Worldwide Attention
The momentous Bar Mitzvah of Academy-Award winning producer Branko Lustig was broadcast live from Auschwitz on JLTV. The celebration started in the United States with Branko receiving his tallit (prayer shawl) at Universal Studios Hollywood, and culminated with the life-altering event in front of Barrack 24 in the concentration camp in Poland where Branko lived during his bar mitzvah age. Branko is the recipient of two Oscars, one for Schindler's List and the other for Gladiator. The prolific roster of films he's helped make possible include Sophie's Choice, Fiddler on the Roof, American Gangster, Kingdom of Heaven, The Peacemaker, Black Hawk Down, and historic TV mini-series Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Dozens of newspapers carried the story and CNN took a JLTV feed from the camp. You can view a five-minute version right here:

You Don't Have to be Jewish to Love JLTV
I am Christian man. But as my love for G-d has grown. My love for Israel and the Jewish people has grown as well, filling my heart with pride and respect. Your station has multiplied my experience and I thank you. - D.S., Punta Gorda, FL, Bright House I just wanted to express how much I enjoy "The Goldbergs" and the main character, "Molly." All portrayed are wonderful, however, Molly shines, facing life, family and challenges with wit, humor and love. It is now one of my favorite shows! I am not Jewish, but so glad to be able to view this fun yet poignant show. - C.L., Chatsworth, CA, DirecTV
I am a Christian and feel a real connection with Jews ... I am glad for JLTV for so many reasons. - N.L., Redmond, WA, DirecTV

... brought to you by the JLTV News Department
During this week in 1945 ... Theresienstadt was liberated by Soviet troops on May 9, 1945. The Theresienstadt "camp-ghetto" existed for three and a half years and is best known for its use as a propaganda tool by the Nazis. Theresienstadt was cynically described as a "spa town" where elderly German Jews could "retire" in safety. The deportations to Theresienstadt were, however, part of the Nazi strategy of deception. The ghetto was in reality a collection center for deportations to ghettos and killing centers in Nazi-occupied eastern Europe. |
