Jona Goldrich, a Holocaust survivor, has built a diversified real estate company that is one of the most significant real estate firms in the State of California. His firm, Goldrich & Kest Industries, LLC, based in Culver City, California, focuses on land acquisition, planning, finance and design.  As a champion of efforts to help produce more affordable housing in America, Mr. Goldrich was named "Man of the Year" by the National Housing Conference in 1983.  He has been the recipient of numerous awards within the Jewish community and from various universities and organizations in Israel.  He created the Los Angeles Holocaust Memorial in the city's Pan Pacific Park and has been instrumental in raising funds required to help create a permanent home for the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.  JLTV is honored to welcome Jona as a member of our Board.

The historic peace treaty - known as The Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt - goes into effect.  The treaty made Egypt the first Arab nation to officially recognize Israel and ended the state of war that had existed between the two countries since Israel's independence in 1948.  As part of that peace treaty, three years later on April 25, 1982, Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.
