Film & Journalism

BMG Logo

Making history with the first educational institution of its kind, the Jewish Life Foundation announces the opening of its School of Broadcasting, Film, & Journalism. The professional training program for college students provides a tuition-free, hands-on, practical approach to learning.  Presented in an environment of Jewish-themed media, the intern programs touch on such areas as producing, writing, directing, camera experience, editing and production skills.  Participating in the School's activities are some of the entertainment and publishing industries most prominent experts, including Academy Award and Emmy winners.  Yitz Dekel, M.A., a veteran in journalism, philanthropic fundraising, and Los Angeles community organizations, has been appointed Executive Director of the Jewish Life Foundation School of Broadcasting, Film & Journalism.

In conjunction with the 45-year-old Blazer Media Group, the School provides students with real life training as an extension of its relationship with JLTV (Jewish Life Television), The Jewish News, Six Point Films and Big J Radio. It encourages Jewish and non-Jewish students to become more acquainted with Jewish identity, content, and history having an impact on future generations of filmmakers, journalists and producers.  In recent years, with the advent of JLTV's creation, interns from Los Angeles area universities have been participating in internships earning credits for their field work.

The Jewish Life Foundation is a non-profit 501c(3) organization, whose mission is to use the power of the media to educate, inform, and celebrate Jewish history, values and traditions by providing multi-cultural and interactive educational outreach programs.
