On Sunday, June 20th, JLTV will air a one-hour special covering the annual Yad Vashem and Jewish Life Foundation's 'Salute to Hollywood' which honored producer and former President of Original Programming at Showtime, Jerry Offsay. The successful event, held at the Writer's Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, was attended by over 400 guests including a number of Hollywood celebrities. Actor Beau Bridges opened the evening, followed by recordings of Kate Smith singing "God Bless America" from a 1940's NBC radio show and JLTV host, Francky Perez' version of "Hatikvah." Israel's Consul General Jacob Dayan and Mayor Jimmy Delshad of Beverly Hills delivered emotional messages. Philanthropist Barry Rubenstein delivered a poignant overview on Yad Vashem's commitment to educate the world about the Holocaust. Then Millie Perkins, who starred in the original film, "The Diary of Anne Frank," read a dramatic excerpt from the film. Another highlight of the evening was a live interview with Betty Wagner, who grew up in Iowa and as a child was a pen pal of Anne Frank. Actor Rade Serbedzija who starred in such films as The Saint and Fugitive Pieces introduced the Holocaust film of the year, Inglorious Basterds. Producer Harvey Weinstein accepted the award in a pre-recorded 'thank-you.' Jack Larson spoke about screenwriter James Bridges and his film White Hunter Black Heart which starred Clint Eastwood. The audience reviewed a remarkable and powerful excerpt from the film which focused on anti-Semitism and the Holocaust. Actress Mimi Rogers, writer/director/actor Robert Townsend, and writer/producer Lionel Chetwynd introduced Jerry Offsay who commented, "This was one of the most moving events of my life." Phil Blazer, JLTV's CEO, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

COMMENTS FROM OUR VIEWERS
"I have been watching your station for a few months now on DIRECTV. I live in California and enjoy many of your programs. The recent addition of "The Goldbergs" is so nostalgic. It's a trip down memory lane for sure. We watched them when I was a child. I keep a pen and paper at the ready while i am watching the interviews, and order the books that I see discussed. every one of them has been exceptional. My family is not Jewish, but I have such a tremendous respect for the Jewish people and their culture. My husband and I have traveled a lot, but we have not been to Israel yet. It is on our list of countries to see. That is why I am trying to learn as much as I can about the people and culture and the country. I just wanted to let you know how much i enjoy the programming, the interviews and talk shows, and especially 'The Goldbergs.'"
