The Goldbergs Comedy Series Back After Over 50 Years
At long last, the endearing sitcom, The Goldbergs, is back on television featuring the compassionate Gertrude Berg. JLTV is proud to announce its collaborate efforts with Shout Factory in reintroducing The Goldbergs to America. The lively Jewish family living in the tenements, and then the suburbs, of New York City headlines the gracious matriarch Molly, played by Gertrude Berg who also created and wrote this classic television series. There are 71 episodes of The Goldbergs, which previously aired on CBS and NBC between 1949 and 1956 to an estimated viewership of over 10 million households per episode. Guest appearances include Steve McQueen, Anne Bancroft, and Marion Ross. "Yoo hoo, Mrs. Goldberg" became a common phrase used cross-culturally throughout television's first decade. The Goldbergs' impact on post-WWII Americana is equal to The Burns and Alan Show, The Jack Benny Show, The Eve Arden Show, and Father Knows Best.
The Goldbergs will air Saturdays and Sundays on JLTV beginning April 10th. The Ultimate Goldbergs DVD set, including TV and radio programs, is available through www.shoutfactorystore.com. |
