Acclaimed film and television producer Jerry Weintraub has joined JLTV's Board of Governors.  Born in Brooklyn and raised in the Bronx, Jerry began his career as a talent agent for MCA.  He formed Management III in 1965 and became a leading concert promoter working with such stars as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin and the Beach Boys.  Jerry's first film venture was Robert Altman's Nashville, followed by Oh, God starring George Burns.  In 1982, Jerry produced Barry Levinson's Diner, which premiered a new generation of actors including Kevin Bacon, Paul Reiser, Mickey Rourke, Tim Daly, Ellen Barkin and Steve Gutternberg.  His other successes are The Karate Kid series, The Specialist, Vegas Vacation, The Avengers, and Ocean's Eleven and its sequels.  Jerry's next release is The Karate Kid 2010 starring Jackie Chan.

In 1984, Jerry helped deliver the ABC Gala Telecast preceding the opening of the Los Angeles Olympic games and produced over 100 television specials with such celebrities as Frank Sinatra, John Denver, and Neil Diamond.  He was named producer of the year by the National Association of Theater Owners and in 1991 President George Bush appointed him to the Board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Jerry's many philanthropic activities include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the LA Music Center, and the Children's Museum.  He is the recipient of the esteemed Scopus Award from the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
