JLTV's New Series "Across America" To Present Jewish Life In Over 160 Communities
In one of the most ambitious communication projects ever launched in
the Jewish community, JLTV will begin broadcasting, this spring, its
daily outreach TV series "Across America" - an historic and
contemporary look at Jewish life. Over 160 communities will be
visited. The series will capture interviews of today's leadership,
presenting archival footage and still photographs along with commentary
by local historians of small towns to urban cities - from New York, Los
Angeles, Miami and Chicago to Helena, Montana, Macon, Georgia and
Portland, Maine, "Across America" will highlight the pioneer spirit of
the men and women who helped build these communities and at the same
time struggled to be accepted. Jewish Life Foundation is producing the
series for JLTV. "Across America" will also give an opportunity for
cable and satellite systems to reach out with JLTV and market to the
multitude of vibrant Jewish communities throughout the nation. Included
in this bulletin is a treasured documentary of Jewish life in Los
Angles, filmed in 1934 and narrated by Rabbi Edgar Magnin
