JLTV to Broadcast Worldwide Rosh Hashanah Services Live from Stephen S. Wise Temple
Making
history, Rosh Hashanah services will be internationally broadcast to 43
nations on JLTV originating from Stephen S. Wise Temple in Los Angeles.
The live telecast will air on Saturday, September 19, the first day of
the Jewish New Year, at 11:30 am (Eastern Time), 8:30 am (Pacific
Time), reaching into the homes of over 100 million families. Not only
will this give non-Jews an opportunity to witness a Rosh Hashanah
holiday service, but also allow Jewish families who are not served by a
local synagogue to participate along with immobile seniors. Temple
Stephen S. Wise, the largest Reform synagogue in America with over 3200
member families, is led by Rabbi Eli Herscher and Cantor Nathan Lam.
The nationally acclaimed synagogue has six rabbis, two cantors, four
schools and three campuses. "We are honored that Stephen S. Wise
Temple was selected to be a part of this important outreach project,"
commented Rabbi Herscher, "It is an opportunity for our congregation to
connect with such a diverse and important audience."
