Jewish/Native Hawaiian Surfing Champ,
Makua Aaron Rothman,
Guests With JLTV's Mitch Gaylord

Makua Aaron Rothman, at 24, is one of the world's leading surfing competitors.  His
father, Eddie Rothman, is one of the founders of the HaBMG Logowaiian surf club (Da Hui) and is in his own right one of Hawaii's most reknown surfing celebrities.  At the tender age of two, Makua Aaron began to challenge the sport that would make him a star.  At the age of 6, long before he took up the sport as a profession, he won the Haleiwa Menehune contest, his first taste of victory. At 13, he began taking the sport seriously.  In addition, he had to deal with issues of being overweight and asthma.  "I've gotten smarter about my exercise and my diet," Rothman says.  Now a solid 165 pounds (down from 190) at a height of 5'8", the Jewish native Hawaiian has become one of the leading surfing celebrity figures, not only in Hawaii, but worldwide.  Makua Aaron Rothman's role models, all great names in the surfing world, passed on to him the understandings of respect, leadership and adhering to one's own beliefs. Rothman also follows his other business interests and enjoys reading the Wall Street Journal.  He does stunt work for films and television, including the network series, Lost.  Makua Aaron Rothman will appear on JLTV's Sports & Scores program hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Mitch Gaylord.  The interview with Mitch and Makua will air on JLTV, Sunday, March 22 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
