Yad Vashem and Jewish Life Foundation To Salute Hollywood at its Annual Event
On Tuesday evening, March 30th, The American Society of Yad Vashem and Jewish Life Foundation will honor Hollywood for its contribution of Holocaust-themed features and documentaries. The tribute event will be held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' elegant Samuel Goldwyn Theater. This year's presentation will honor Defiance, directed by Edward Zwick and starring Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber. Actual members of the Bielski partisans will be in attendance and recognized for their bravery and courage. Adam Resurrected, starring Jeffrey Goldblum and produced by Ehud Bleiberg, encompasses the psychological trauma confronting Holocaust survivors, will also be one of the honored films. ABC-TV's monumental 1980s mini-series, Winds of War and War and Remembrance, written by Herman Wouk, produced by Branko Lustig and starring Jane Seymour has been selected as the Holocaust-themed classic. In addition, the 33-minute Carlsbad High School (San Diego) student-produced documentary We Must Remember will be screened. Students responsible for producing this powerful film will be in attendance, along with hundreds of students from Los Angeles area high schools.

 New March of the Living Poster Underscores Jewish/Polish Cultural and Historical Facets
JLTV graphic artist Hanan Druker, has created a profound poster focusing on the youthful aspect of March of the Living, an annual event that brings together thousands of teenagers, young adults and survivors, both Jewish and Christian. This year, JLTV begins live coverage of the March, which will include, not only the ceremony, but a perspective of Jewish life in Poland during its one thousand year period of enlightenment, as well as the post-Holocaust revitalization of Jewish life in that nation. The new March of the Living poster will be signed by various dignitaries who are supportive of the event and of JLTV's new outreach broadcasts. JLTV will air this Special on Tuesday, April 21 and repeated Sunday, April 26.
