World Renown Artist Peter Max
Creates Stunning Poster for Maccabiah 18

Peter Max just completed his special edition poster for the 18th Maccabiah Games as momentum garners for historic JLTV daily broadcast from Israel this July.  In the sports arena, Peter has been the Official Artist for five Super Bowls, The World Cup USA, The U.S. Tennis Open and the NHL All-Star Game.

"This is Peter's fourth poster for our media group and his involvement signifies the high-level of talent, in all walks of life, which we are able to generate for the Games," commented Phil Blazer, JLTV President and CEO, " his personal journey escaping the Nazis from his birthplace of Berlin, to he and his family's sanctuary in Shanghai and Tibet, to his eventual home in Haifa, Israel, underscores his sensitivity to these Games of skill and camaraderie.

It was in Israel that young Peter also developed a love and fascination for astronomy. In American Max was trained at the Art Students League, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts, all in New York.

Peter Max is one of the world's most respected, talented and successful artists. He is a multi-dimensional creative artist and has worked with oils, acrylics, water colors, finger paints, dyes, pastels, charcoal, pen, multi-colored pencils, etchings, engravings, animation cells, lithographs, serigraphs, silk screens, ceramics, sculpture, collage, video and computer graphics.

As a painter for four former U.S. Presidents (Carter, Ford, Bush and Reagan) in 1993, Max was approached by the inaugural committee to create posters for Bill Clinton's inauguration.  He was later invited to the White House to paint the signing of the Peace Accord. A lover of music, Max has been designated Official Artist for the Grammys, The 25th Anniversary of the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the Woodstock Music Festival.
Always an optimist, Peter sees a fabulous new age for the new millennium, filled with enormous possibilities.  He also sees a need for a greater responsibility to our planet, and he is ever ready to serve as the "Global Artist." JLTV is proud to have the beauty of Peter Max's art grace the Maccabiah Games.
