Armed Forces Network Airs JLTV Programming

Tens of thousands of Jewish-American men and women who serve in the military and as diplomats around the world are now receiving JLTV's Jewish-themed programming through Armed Forces Network (AFN). Over one million personnel of the Department of Defense and State Department, in 175 countries and U.S. territories, as well as across the United States, will have the opportunity to view JLTV. A few of the countries included in the distribution are Afghanistan, Iraq, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Germany and Guam. "AFN provides a touch of home to soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, coastguardsmen, embassy staff and their families," stated Armed Forces Network Chaplain Bruce L. Kite, "and we are looking forward to broadcasting JLTV content."The first broadcast of JLTV's outreach on AFN is a special Chanukah program, which includes the spinning of a dreidel in space by Astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman (click on the image below) and Chanukah music. JLTV's special AFN programs will focus on other Jewish holidays throughout the year as well as entertainment. JLTV will also broadcast through AFN the Maccabiah Games in July 2009 featuring 10,000 athletes, second in size only to the Olympics."JLTV is proud and honored to be able to reach out, not only to our Jewish American men and women stationed around the world, but to those of all faiths who serve our nation," commented Phil Blazer, President & CEO of JLTV.
