Notes from the Editor
As I start to write the content for the eNews, a thought goes through my mind--"What will I write about this time?" Looking through various resources for information, I always find I have more than enough information to share with others. An extra bonus is that I have learned and become familiar with many new topics and discovered information. I have to admit I enjoy this part of doing the eNews. Unfortunately, my many other commitments impact the time I have to produce the eNews.  As the acting editor, I am still looking for a volunteer willing to take on doing the monthly eNews. It is not as onerous as one might think, and it enriches your knowledge base of current nursing affairs. For DNA members who already need to do research as part of their nursing practice or those who love to learn, this is an ideal way to start.  My initial involvement in the DNA, other than at annual meetings chairing sessions, was as website and eNews editor. It is an excellent way to get involved in the DNA. The rewards of volunteering are enormous!! I am willing to discuss this with any of you at any time.

Nina MacDonald
Acting editor of the ENews.

Expert Sheds Light on the Way Meaningful Use Affects Nurses
Nurses will become more involved in the implementation of electronic health records and the collection of quality data as hospitals work on meeting the requirements of the meaningful use program to qualify for federal stimulus funding, according to Pat Wise, vice president at Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Nurses also should actively participate in education programs to familiarize themselves with the technology involved and ensure that the transition is quick and easy, Wise said.

1. Clinician Satisfaction with 3M™ Tegaderm™ High Performance Foam Adhesive Dressing: An International Assessment
High Performance Foam Adhesive Dressing is easy to use, comfortable to wear and promotes an optimal wound environment for low-to-high-exudating wounds as a result of its improved fluid handling properties. The patented spoke design and dressing conformability allow for easy application. Improvements to its fluid handling properties allow the dressing to be less evaporative under low-exudate conditions and yet more evaporative under high-exudate conditions. Clinician satisfaction with the performance of Tegaderm™ High Performance Foam Adhesive Dressing was evaluated during clinical use in patient care settings in the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK) and Canada.

Does your clinical practice use an adhesive dressing that treats wounds of varying severity in both short and long-term care situations? Learn about a new foam adhesive dressing that's receiving high marks in clinical evaluations for absorbability, conformability, durability and comfort.
