Greetings!
It's been a busy summer here at the Successful Communities Toolkit. Two fabulous interns, Hannah and Carolyn teamed up to develop SCOTie case studies, find new planning resources, and explore planning issues like transit-oriented development, waste reduction ordinances and sustainable foodsheds. A few of their case studies are featured below, but you can also read their blog posts and review their other case studies on SCOTie. Check out the links below for some great information that you do not want to miss!
In addition to new case studies and resources, Western Lands and Communities produced a webinar in July titled Innovations in Water Resource Planning. Featuring Wally Wilson and Fernando Molina from Tucson Water and Laurie Trevizo from the City of Santa Fe, this webinar covers planning activities implemented by local governments preparing for declining water resources using scenario planning, rainwater harvesting and comprehensive planning.
